Igneous rocks are really cool. They are my favorite rock because of how they form. They form when magma cools and leaves a solid.
This rock has a lot of rocks in its category, and some of my favorite rocks are in this category, I like the colors and texture about igneous. Below you will see some examples of an igneous rock!! Also there is something called intrusive and extrusive rock. Intrusive means that it form IN the volcano, Think of IN-tru-sive, IN that means inside of something, so the igneous forms inside of a volcano when it says intrusive, now Extrusive means outside of a volcano, Think of EXT-ru-sive, EXT is close to exit, so EXT means exit in our minds. That means that the igneous forms outside of the volcano. These rocks are used in statues, and art, and tools and counter tops and many more things.

This rock above is an Gabbro rock, This rock is very coarse, and if you don't know what Coarse means it means that its very rough, like when you wake up in the morning and have to cough to get that gross stuff out of your through and you talk really weird like your voice is scratchy, Ya that's coarse. Also its pretty lifeless, and if you also don't know what that means it means no color, dark, dreary, and kind of blank. I say that because this rock is very dark and non colorful. Its hardness is anywhere from 2.3-3.0
This is another example of a igneous rock, this is called Obsidian. This rock is very glassy, shiny, and it feels waxy even though its not. This rock is really cool. It forms when magma and water collide leaving this rock.
